President Bola Tinubu has approved the deployment of 65 ambassadors to their respective host countries.
This is coming after their nominations were confirmed by the Senate in December 2025.
The list released by Mr. Bayo Onanuga,
Special Adviser to the President, Information and Strategy, on Friday, said a total of 65 ambassadors and High Commissioners were posted across the countries.
Among the high-profile postings are former presidential spokesperson Reno Omokri, who has been assigned to Mexico; ex-aviation minister Femi Fani-Kayode, who will represent Nigeria in Germany; and the immediate past Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu to Qatar.
The former military administrator to Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok Ette-Ibas is posted to Philippines, former governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu is the non-career ambassador to Spain and former governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi is posted to Greece.
The former minister of interior, Lt. Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau posted to China, Nkechi Linda Ufochukwu posted to Isreal, Paul Adikwu to Vatican City, while Senator Jimoh Ibrahim is the UN Permanent Representatives.
The nominees had earlier been transmitted to the Senate by President Tinubu in 2025, and their confirmations were secured before the end of that legislative year.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already received agrément from the United Kingdom for the High Commissioner-designate, Ambassador Aminu Dalhatu. Similarly, France has sent the agrément for Ambassador Ayo Oke.
The Ministry has also conveyed the nominations of the other 62 designated envoys to all the countries concerned, including a request for their agréments in line with standard diplomatic practice.
President Tinubu has directed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should immediately commence the induction programme for the ambassadors-designate and High Commissioners.
