A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State, Abdulrahman Haske, has called for full participation of party members, loyalists and other critical stakeholders at the planned grand reception to welcome His Excellency, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, into the party.
The grant reception, scheduled for Mahmud Ribadu Square, Yola in Adamawa State, will have in attendance Vice President Kassim Shetima, the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda and the APC National Secretary, Dr. Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru.
Members of the Progressive Governors’ Forum PGF led by its Chairman, Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State; ministers and other top party chieftains and government functionaries at the national and state level are also billed to be at the event.
“The planned reception holds great significance and heralds a sense of more robust political consolidation not only for the party but also the state at large,” Haske, a governorship aspirant in the state, who also served as the party’s Chairman of Youth Advisory Committee in last year’s August 16 Adamawa State Assembly Constituency by-election in Ganye Local Government Area, was quoted in a statement by Abdulgaffar Ahmed, the Publicity Secretary for Abdulrahman Haske.
He, therefore, emphasized the centrality of having robust and full participation of party members and loyalists in giving the party the support it deserves and the Governor a warm reception as the party’s leader in the state.
“I encourage party stakeholders, youths, women, and supporters across Adamawa State to come out in large numbers to warmly receive and support our Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, during the APC reception in the state in his honour.
“Such collective participation and solidarity will reinforce the strength of our party and further consolidate its position at both the subnational and national levels. This is just as consultations and engagements with the people of Adamawa continue as part of ongoing efforts to build a more inclusive, prosperous, and forward-looking state,” Haske said.
He noted further that the planned reception for the Governor is an important precursor to the State APC Congress to be held later in the state and the APC National Convention, scheduled to take place at the Eagles Square in Abuja from March 27-28, 2026.
On February 27, 2025, Adamawa State witnessed a historic political alignment as Governor Fintiri aligned his political structures from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with the APC, assuring that the political alignment would enable Adamawa State to effectively support and leverage the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which, according to him, aims to transform the nation in critical sectors, including social welfare, infrastructure, housing and inclusive economic development.
