Centre LSD graduates 98 leaders, expands school alumni to 3,506

The African Centre for Leadership, Strategy & Development (Centre LSD) will on Saturday, 5 September 2026, graduate 98 participants of Set 25 of its Leadership School, further strengthening its commitment to nurturing ethical, strategic, and transformational leaders for sustainable development.

The graduation ceremony, which is the Centre’s second Leadership School graduation within a year, will be held under the theme, “Leadership, Election and Development in Nigeria.” The theme highlights the important connection between the quality of leadership, democratic processes, and the country’s development outcomes.

In a statement, the Acting Director of Leadership, Centre LSD, Mr. Lawal Amodu, said the theme is particularly relevant as Nigeria continues to grapple with complex governance, economic and social development challenges.

He noted that there is an increasing need for citizens and leaders who understand the relationship between effective leadership, democratic participation, accountability, and sustainable development.

According to him, the 98 graduands have been equipped with knowledge, values and practical leadership competencies that will enable them to contribute meaningfully within their various spheres of influence.

“The Leadership School is not just about acquiring knowledge. It is about developing leaders who are prepared to take responsibility, engage citizens, influence institutions, and contribute to positive change in society,” Amodu said.

The graduation of Set 25 brings the total number of graduates of the Centre LSD Leadership School to 3,506, further expanding its growing network of emerging and transformational leaders across Nigeria.

Mr. Amodu emphasised that the Centre LSD Leadership School remains committed to building a critical mass of leaders who can provide purposeful leadership and contribute to strengthening democratic governance and sustainable development.

He reaffirmed the Centre’s commitment to nurturing leaders who lead with integrity, think strategically, engage citizens, influence institutions, and use their leadership to contribute to positive and sustainable change in Nigeria and across Africa.
