SDP states chairmen backs National Chair Gombe, NWC members

The forum of Social Democratic Party (SDP) State Chairmen has thrown its weight behind the new National Chairman of the party, Prof. Sodiq Abubakar Gombe on his new role and confirmation to lead the party.

TheTimes reports that Prof. Gombe’s position was ratified during the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting which took place in Abuja earlier in the week.

The Secretary of the forum, Idris Adamu said Inna statement that the confirmation by the NEC reflects the overwhelming support the new Chairman enjoys among the party stakeholders.

The forum commended the National Working Committee (NWC) for their resilience and dedication in elevating the party to its current status, which it noted is gradually attracting politicians from other political parties and other Nigerian electorates too.

“The forum also congratulates our newly confirmed new State Chairmen and prays that God grants them wisdom to effectively lead our party in their respective states,” Adamu said.

He also felicitated with the leadership of the forum led by Hon. Femi Olaniyi Ferrari, and urged all party leaders and members nationwide to woo more Nigerians into the party.

The forum assured that the SDP is the most credible alternative for building a better Nigeria, urging Nigerians to join the party for democratic and national development.

“Additionally, we thank all party leaders and stakeholders, including our former presidential candidate for the 2023 general election, for his moral and financial support. His contributions have been invaluable in shaping the party’s progress.

“Nevertheless, we also wish to extend our congratulations to our esteemed colleagues who have been inaugurated as the executive members of the SDP Chairmen’s Forum. The designated members are as follows: Hon. Femi Olaniyi Ferrari as the Chairman of Chairmen (COC); Abba Modu as the Deputy Chairman for the Northern Region; Hon. Okunlade Michael as the Deputy for the Southern Region; Mr. Adamu Idris as Secretary; Mr. Idoko Itodo as Assistant Secretary; Mr. Kingsley Obina Agbo as Treasurer; Mr. Allen Amadien as Publicity Secretary; Barrister Yerima Yakubu as Legal Adviser; and Mr. Willington Odiong serves as Ex officio,” Adamu said.
