Unauthorized publication: Onyeneke disowns viral NDC notice

A Commercial Lawyer, Barrister Chijioke Onyeneke, has distanced himself from a press statement circulating on social media and other platforms claiming his emergence as the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for the Owerri Federal Constituency in Imo State.

In a disclaimer issued by his Media and Public Affairs Team, Onyeneke said he neither authorized nor approved the publication, stressing that it was not released through any of his official communication channels.

The statement urged members of the public, party supporters, stakeholders and media organizations to disregard the report, describing it as an unauthorized publication.

According to the disclaimer, “Barrister Onyeneke did not issue, distribute or instruct anyone to circulate the statement to media organizations or the general public.”

The team expressed concern that certain individuals may be attempting to create confusion and mislead the public through the dissemination of unverified information.

It emphasized that any statement purportedly issued on behalf of Onyeneke without his express approval does not represent his views or those of his associates.

The statement advised journalists and the public to rely only on information released through officially designated channels and authorized spokespersons.

Onyeneke reaffirmed his commitment to transparency, lawful political engagement and due process, assuring supporters that any official position would be communicated through the appropriate platforms.
