PILA to inaugurate Odiachi as new President

The Professional Insurance Ladies Association (PILA) says it is set to inaugurate Dr. Joyce Odiachi as its 16th President on Friday, June 26, 2026, in Lagos.

In a statement, PILA said the investiture ceremony is expected to bring together an influential audience of insurance executives, regulators, policymakers, corporate leaders, development partners, and professionals from across the financial services ecosystem, reinforcing the growing importance of female leadership within Nigeria’s insurance industry.

With the theme, “Roots and Wings: Empowering Women, Transforming Lives,” the event is expected to serve as a platform for meaningful conversations around leadership, professional development, mentorship, inclusion, and the future of women in insurance.

“The ceremony will be chaired by Mr. Tope Smart (Chairman, NEM Insurance Plc), a respected industry leader whose contributions to insurance growth, corporate governance, and professional excellence have helped shape Nigeria’s insurance landscape.

“The keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Omotola Bamigbaiye, a renowned business strategist, corporate governance advocate, author, and leadership mentor with over two decades of experience across financial services and consumer goods in Africa and the Middle East. Her insights on leadership, transformation, and personal development continue to inspire professionals and organizations alike.

“Under Dr. Odiachi’s leadership, the association is expected to deepen its impact through initiatives focused on professional capacity building, leadership development, mentorship, strategic partnerships, community empowerment and education. These priorities align with the association’s broader commitment to nurturing the next generation of insurance professionals while strengthening the industry’s contribution to national development,” the statement added.
